Eco-friendly eating is a true fashion statement. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has created a resource to guide your shopping to minimize pesticide consumption. Eating green is good for you and for the environment. EWG and I agree that you don't want your fear of pesticides to get in the way of eating the recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables. The following chart from the Centers for Disease Control is the Indicator Report on Fruits and Vegetable Consumption in 2009. Only 14% of adults consume more than 2 fruits and 3 vegetables per day which translates into you missing out on the benefits of your foundational foods (high ORAC).
